Jonah Cordy, better known as Kites With Lights, calls his music electro pop. By that he doesn’t mean the latest electronica pablum, but actually harkening back to when The Cars, early Depeche Mode, Orchestral Maneuvers and Tears for Fears ruled the airwaves.

He also declares a for loves car music, a rare musical subclass of pop perfect for the open road, epitomized by driving beats (pardon the pun), smooth rhythms and memorably simple melodies. When done right, a good car tune can even make a traffic jam on I-95 pleasurable.

Lastly, with his latest release, Cordy wants to come up with some properly ambient rainy day music. No objections here as, particularly during a solid downfall, such precipitous pop can make being stuck in the house a lot less dreadful. Just add the appropriately comforting tea, purring cat and comforter.
